5 Simple Steps to suit up LED dance costumes
Step 1: Unpack the Suit
Start by releasing the two buckles at the top of the suit and remove the belt. Next, unfasten the last buckle that connects the controller and battery box. With that done, you can now unfold the suit. Lay it flat on the ground and spread the arms and legs out. You may notice some buckles or Velcro straps securing the suit. Release these to fully unpack the suit and ensure it’s ready for the next step.
Step 2: Dress Up the Suit
To get started, pull the straps to create more space and make it easier for your head to go through the opening. Next, grab all the buckles next to the battery and controller box, and carefully put the suit over your head. Fasten the buckles at the waist, and then locate the remaining straps behind the battery and controller boxes and connect them together.
For the Velcro band, go under the cables and attach them together. There’s an extra strap provided for double security. When it comes to the arms and legs, it’s simple. Wrap the upper arm section first, followed by the forearm. Then, put on the gloves, and you’re done with the arms! Adjust the LED positions to suit your preference and make sure the cables are placed smoothly — avoid curling or bending them.
For the legs, the procedure is the same. However, there’s a buckle with elastic straps for securing the Velcro and preventing detachment.
Step 3: Connect the Cables
Now, let’s connect the cables to the controller. You’ll find five cables coming out of the controller box. Four of these are signal cables (labeled 1-4), and the last one is the power cable (without a label).
Start by grabbing cable 1 and threading it through the loop on the Velcro waistband. Make sure the three pins of the cable are aligned correctly before connecting them together. Do the same for cables 2, 3, and 4. Once all signal cables are connected, you’re ready to move on to the next step.
Step 4: Insert the Batteries
Now it’s time to insert the batteries into the battery boxes. There are three battery boxes in total. Open each box, place the battery under the strap, and connect the male plug of the battery to the corresponding male plug from the circuit board. Note that the female plugs won’t be used, so you can set them aside. Repeat this process for the other two batteries.
Each battery box has a buckle with an elastic strap — fasten it to prevent any wires from being dragged around during your dance performance. Once everything is secure, press the button on each battery box to power up the suit. The green light on the circuit board inside the box will indicate that the batteries are working, and you’ll also see a blue light inside the controller box.
Step 5: Power Up and Test
Once you put on the wireless LED dance suit and connect all the cables, you’re ready to light it up! At this point, you can control the suit either with your computer or your controller. To ensure everything is working seamlessly, check the lights and confirm that everything is synchronized and functioning.
